On May 1st, 2010 Northwestern Outdoors Radio was awarded second place in the Northwest Outdoor Writer's Association's "Excellence in Craft" contest for the best video/audio broadcast of 2009. The winning show was a video production, which gives Northwestern Outdoors Radio the honor of being the best radio broadcast of 2009!
Northwestern Outdoors Radio was one of several audio and video broadcasts entered into this category. Professional outdoors communicators not association with NOWA judged the entries. This is the second year in a row Northwestern Outdoors Radio has been recognized in NOWA's annual "Excellence In Craft" contest.
Host John Kruse states, "It's very gratifying to be recognized by your professional peers, and it's great to know listeners are getting the quality programming they deserve!"
Northwestern Outdoors Radio is currently heard on twelve stations in the Pacific Northwest. The hour long show covers a variety of outdoors recreation topics and information with a regional focus. This is the second year in a row the show has garnered an "Excellence in Craft" award from the Northwest Outdoor Writer's Association!
