It's the only fishing tournament I can think of where you don't need a boat! It's also one where you are rewarded cash for catching different species of fish! It's the annual Mar Don Marathon Dock Tournament, which will run from Friday evening, Sep 17th until the afternoon of Sunday, Sep 19th, 2010.
Anglers fishing off Mar Don's huge dock system at the south end of Potholes Reservoir will be competing to catch the biggest fish from a variety of different species to include bass, walleye, trout, perch, crappie, bluegill, catfish, carp and more. First and second place winners for each species win cash - the amount to be determined by how many people enter. It's the sort of tournament anyone can win!
The end of the tournament on Sunday will also include a pie social - a great time to enjoy some great food and tell all those fishing stories about the fish that did - and didn't - get away!
