THE LATEST REPORT FROM MAR DON RESORT!
By Mike Meseberg
As we move into August of 2010 our water level remains very high. The water now is dropping extremely fast however on August 5, 2010 our level is where we usually see it in mid-late July. This allows easy access to the far reaches of the sand dunes and some fine bass, crappie, bluegill and perch action. Surface water temperatures in the 80 degree range have been reported in the shallows in the sand dunes. The warm water makes for great swimming, water sports and especially TOP WATER BASS FISHING.
The MarDon Fishing Dock
The MarDon Fishing Dock has finally began producing consistant early morning crappie, all day bluegill and perch. Plus some surprising smallmouth and largemouth catches. Day use guests must pay $7.00 per person each day or $4.00 for seniors or kids. Day use dock fishing guests must leave at dusk NO EXCEPTIONS. Seasonal night passes are available. Twelve and younger must wear life jackets by law. MarDon rents life jackets if you need them, along with boats and more!
